The IBA Foundation Inc. prides itself on providing members with one of the best nonprofit banker education programs in the country. Featured in this brochure is the highly acclaimed 2010 Consumer Lending School, which addresses the most immediate and relevant training needs of the financial industry.

We know that bankers demand a strong return on education, "ROE," in terms of dollars, time, and effort spent. You can count on this school to provide:

The Curriculum
This three-day mini-school focuses on the consumer-lending process from interviewing to closing requirements. Special attention is given to marginal loan decisions. This comprehensive, three day study of basic consumer lending will take the student through the process of consumer lending to develop and advance the skills necessary to administer quality consumer loans.

Admission Information
Who Should Attend

All personnel with consumer lending responsibilites. Lenders who want to broaden their consumer lending knowledge will benefit greatly from the school. Graduates will be better prepared to serve effectively and profitably as consumer loan officers. Designed for newer loan personnel, the school focuses on the consumer-lending process from interviewing to closing requirements. Special attention is given to marginal loan decisions. Key topics include the role of the consumer loan officer, taking the loan application and interviewing, compliance, investigating the application, risk analysis, lending to self-employed borrowers, business development, loan documentation, collections, and bankruptcy.

Selection of Applicants
All applications and full registration fees must be received in the IBA office by April 2, 2010. The IBA Board of Education will consider all applications, determine acceptability and notify the applicant. Decisions of the board will be final.

Registration
Students will register between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, with class beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Location
All classes will be held at the IBA Center for Professional Development located on the westside of Indianapolis at 6925 Parkdale Place, Indianapolis, IN 46254-4673.

Cost
Tuition is $599 for IBA Members, $1,198 for Nonmembers. Fees include, casebook, study materials, continental breakfast, lunch, dinner (Tuesday evening only), and refreshment breaks each day.

Housing
IBA has reserved a block of rooms at the Jameson Inn, 3850 Eagle View Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46254, which is within walking distance to the IBA Training Center. Room rates are $69.99 per night based on single/double occupancy. To make your room reservations call 317-299-6165. The cut-off date for reservations is March 13, 2010. Any reservations received after the cut-off date will be accepted on a space or rate available basis.

Meals
Continental breakfast is offered to all guests of the Jameson Inn. The IBA will provide continential breakfast and lunch at the Center for Professional Development. There will be a group outing with dinner on the evening of April 13. Dinner on April 14 is on your own.

Required Equipment
Participants should bring, and be familiar with, an HP-12C calculator or its equivalent for use during the school.

Requirements and Regulations
Participants are expected to attend all sessions. Absences are excused only because of illness, catastrophe or extenuating circumstances, based upon a written statement submitted to, and approved by, the IBA Board of Education.

Certificate of Completion
Student performance will be measured using a combination of class participation and group presentations. Students who satisfactorily complete all requirements will receive a certificate of completion. 

Refund Policy
Any applicant who is not admitted to the school will receive a full refund. Any applicant withdrawing from the school prior to April 6, 2010 will receive a refund minus a $70 cancellation fee. Any applicant canceling after April 6, 2010 or failing to appear at the school, will forfeit the entire registration fee. Extenuating circumstances will be considered on an individual basis by the IBA Board of Education. Requests for refunds due to extenuating circumstances should be submitted in writing.

The Faculty
The faculty for the 2010 Consumer Lending School represents a wealth of lending experience and the ability to communicate this experience in an effective and enjoyable manner. Curriculum design, case study development, and lead instruction will be provided by David Kemp. Kemp has more than 16 years’ experience and management responsibility in credit administration. Before starting his own consulting firm, he was vice president and director of credit services for Cannon Financial Institute, a nationally recognized firm in financial services training and consulting. He is one of the IBA’s highest-rated speakers. 
 

Paul R. Osborne, Crowe Horwath, LLP.  Osborne is the Executive responsible nationally for directing the development and support of regulatory advisory services, focusing on consumer compliance, BSA/AML and terrorist financing risk assessments, BSA/AML independent audits, trust department operational & administrative reviews, BSA/AML and trust training, assisting clients with developing functional and effective BSA compliance management programs, consulting with clients and prospects on the feasibility of establishing fiduciary services, and responding to client inquiries with respect to particular regulations or their application.  Crowe Chizek & Co. currently provides compliance and trust consulting services to over 400 financial institution clients nationwide.

Confirmation/Cancellation
Everyone who registers online will receive an e-mail confirmation after the registration is submitted. Within three or more business days prior to the day of an educational program, no cancellation charge will be assessed.  Within two days prior, 50% of the fee is assessed.  Refunds are not provided for cancellations or absences which occur on the day of the program.  Substitutions are welcome at any time.
