Michael K. Bauer
Community Bank Shares of Indiana, New Albany

Chairman

Michael K. Bauer, is executive vice president and chief credit officer with Community Bank Shares of Indiana, New Albany. He previously served as executive vice president commercial lending for MainSource Bank, Greensburg. He joined MainSource Financial Group in 1995 as president and CEO of a former affiliate, Regional Bank, New Albany. Prior to that experience, Bauer was president and CEO of Harris Bank Bartlett, Ill. He is a past member of the Independent Community Bankers of America - Regulatory Review Committee. He has served as a board member of the Southern Indiana Chamber of Commerce, of the Economic Development Council of Southern Indiana and of the Arts Council of Southern Indiana. Bauer also served the Community Bankers Association of Indiana as a board member for several years. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University and an MBA from DePaul University.


David M. Geis
Jackson County Bank, Seymour

First Vice Chairman

David M. Geis has been serving as president and CEO of Bancorp of Southern Indiana and of Jackson County Bank, Seymour, since 1980. He began his banking career in 1974 as a credit analyst with Indiana National Bank. Geis also has past experience with the Indiana Department of Financial Institutions as a senior bank examiner and with Jackson County Bank as a commercial loan officer-executive vice president. His community activities include involvement as director and president of Seymour Industrial Corp., as director of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and member of its finance and audit committee, as past director and board chairman of the Greater Seymour Chamber of Commerce, and as an appointee to the Seymour Economic Development Commission. Geis is a graduate of Indiana University, of the National Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma and of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.


Patrick J. Glotzbach
The New Washington State Bank

Second Vice Chairman

Patrick J. Glotzbach, is president and CEO of New Washington State Bank, Charlestown, which he joined in 1991. He began his banking career in 1980 with First Bank of Charlestown. Glotzbach is a board member and past chairman of the Medical Center of Indiana. He is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking and of the ABA’s National Commercial Lending School.


Roger K. Cromer
Crossroads Bank, Wabash

Immediate Past Chairman

Roger K. Cromer is president and CEO of Crossroads Bank, Wabash. He joined the bank under its former name, First Federal Savings Bank of Wabash, in 1998 as chief financial officer and was named president and CEO in 2000. He previously served for 10 years with 1st Source Bank, South Bend. Cromer currently serves as chairman of the board of Wabash County Hospital and as vice president of the Economic Redevelopment Commission of Wabash County. He also has served as past board member of the Wabash County Chamber of Commerce, as past treasurer of the Wabash County YMCA and on the fundraising committee of the Wabash United Fund. He is a graduate of St. Joseph’s College.


S. Joe DeHaven
Indiana Bankers Association

Association president/CEO

S. Joe DeHaven joined the Indiana Bankers Association as president and chief operating officer in 2006, as a result of the merger of the Community Bankers Association of Indiana (CBAI) and IBA. DeHaven was promoted to his current position in 2007. Prior to the merger, he served as president and CEO of the CBAI from 1990 through the 2006 merger. Previously he was an executive officer of Merchants National Bank of Muncie, now First Merchants Bank. Currently DeHaven is a trustee of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin, a board member of the Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corp. and a member of the Indiana advisory board of the Great Lakes Capital Fund for Housing. He serves at the pleasure of Lt. Governor Becky Skillman on the Advisory Council of the Office of Community and Rural Affairs. DeHaven has served as chairman of the Council of Community Banker Associations and as a board member of the Independent Community Bankers of America. He is also a member of the Indiana Society of Association Executives and the Governmental Affairs Society of Indiana. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking-Wisconsin. 


Mark A. Schroeder
German American Bancorp, Jasper

ICBA State Director

Mark A. Schroeder, is chairman and CEO of German American Bancorp, Jasper. He has been with the holding company since 1983 and the bank since 1972. He is past chairman of the Community Bankers Association of Indiana and serves the ICBA as a member of the board, vice chairman of the Tax Committee and a member of the Large Community Bank Council. He also serves as a board member of ICBA Bancard.  A member of the Indiana CPA Society, Schroeder serves on the board of overseers for St. Meinrad, School of Theology. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Evansville and is a graduate of Stonier Graduate School of Banking.


Michael C. Marhenke
Independent Alliance Banks Inc., and Grabill Bank

ABA Member Council

Michael C. Marhenke is president and CEO of Independent Alliance Banks Inc., Grabill. He was named to the position in 2005. Marhenke also has served since 2004 as president and CEO of Grabill Bank, one of the banks in the Independent Alliance Banks Inc. holding company. He has 30 years of banking experience, including positions as executive vice president, chief operating officer and vice president of business development of Grabill Bank, which he joined in 1998. Previously Marhenke was president of Norwest Bank, Bluffton. Active in the community, he serves on the board of directors of the New Haven/Adams Township Park Department, is treasurer of the David Hefner International Exchange Fund and a member of the Fort Wayne Rotary Club and 100% Club. Marhenke earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. 


Jay A. Baker
German American, Jasper

Future Leadership Division President 

Jay A. Baker is senior vice president, regional senior retail officer of German American, Jasper. He has been with the bank for 17 years. Baker is active with numerous civic organizations including service on the board of directors of the Jasper Chamber of Commerce. Active with the IBA as president of the Future Leadership Division and as a BANKPAC captain, Baker is a graduate of Western Illinois University and of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.


Andrew J. Briggs
Bank of Geneva

Northeast Region Director

Andrew J. Briggs, president and CEO, Bank of Geneva, is the fifth-generation member of his family to serve as president of the bank. He has 33 years of banking experience and has been serving in his current position since 1994. Briggs is past president of Geneva Town Council. He is active on the boards of: Bank of Geneva, chairman; Limberlost Bancshares Inc., chairman; Limberlost State Historic Site, corporate secretary; Swiss Village Retirement Center; Adams County Economic Development, treasurer; Geneva Public Library, treasurer; Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership; and Arts Place Inc. Briggs is a graduate of Ball State University.


James G. Hiatt
First State Bank, Middlebury

Northeast Region Director

James G. Hiatt is president and CEO of First State Bank of Middlebury. He began his banking career in 1970 and joined First State Bank as president and board member in 1982. Hiatt serves on the boards of directors of Elkhart General Hospital, the Economic Development Corporation of Elkhart County, the Middlebury Development Corp., the Greencroft Foundation, Elkhart County Economic Development Commission and Middlebury Redevelopment Commission. He is a member of the Middlebury Optimist Club and of the charitable gift planning committee of the Elkhart County Community Foundation Inc. Past community involvement includes: Middlebury Salvation Army Service Unit, Northridge Dollars for Scholars, Michiana Public Broadcasting, Junior Achievement of Elkhart County, Middlebury United Way, Ball State University Alumni Council, Miss Elkhart County Scholarship Pageant, Northridge Athletic Booster Club, Elkhart County Horizon Project and Middlebury Vision Project. A past IBA region 1 president, Hiatt is a graduate of Ball State University and of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.


David W. Heeter
MutualBank, Muncie

Northeast Region Director  

David W. Heeter is CEO and director of MutualBank, Muncie; he also serves as CEO, president and director of MutualFirst Financial Inc. Heeter joined MutualBank in 1978 and has served in multiple positions, including vice president and executive vice president/chief operating officer, before being named to his current titles in 2003. He is vice president of the Mutual Federal Savings Bank Charitable Foundation Inc., member of the Cardinal Health Alliance board of directors and member of the Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County finance advisory board. Heeter has past leadership experience with the Ball State University College of Business Alumni, Muncie Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, United Way and Muncie Family YMCA. He is a graduate of Ball State University and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.


Karen I. Miller
The Farmers Bank, Frankfort

Northwest Region Director

Karen I. Miller is president and CEO of The Farmers Bank, Frankfort. She joined the bank in 1995 and has served as chief financial officer, senior vice president, and executive vice president prior to being named president and CEO in 2006. Miller previously was employed with Clinton County Bank & Trust, which later merged with Summit Bank and NBD, for nearly 10 years; she served as loan review officer, chief financial officer and executive officer. Prior to her banking career, Miller was a staff accountant for nine years with the CPA firm of C.S. Oats Accountancy Corp., Lebanon. She is a member of the Indiana CPA Society, the Frankfort Main Street board, Clinton County Partners in Progress, the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce and the IBA Audit Committee. Miller earned a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University.


Annette Russell
Security Federal Savings Bank, Logansport

Northwest Region Director

Annette M. Russell is president and CEO of Security Federal Savings Bank, Logansport. She joined the bank in 1991. A certified public accountant, Russell is a graduate of Indiana University-Kokomo, of the Graduate School of Bank Investments and Financial Management and of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. She serves the community as a member of the board of directors of the Logansport-Cass County Chamber of Commerce, on the Ivy Tech Capital Campaign Steering Committee, Stonier Capstone Advisor, Indiana University SPEA advisory board, United Way leadership committee and as past chair of the Logansport/Cass County Economic Development Corp. Russell was granted the Indiana University Kokomo Alumni Association’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2006 and was named Chamber of Commerce Business Woman of the Year for 2007-08.


Patrick Duffey
State Bank of Burnettsville

Northwest Region

Patrick Duffey is president and CEO of State Bank of Burnettsville. He joined the bank as lending officer in 1991 and was promoted to his current position in 2004. Duffey serves the community as president of the Goodfellows of White County and as a member of the board of directors of the Greater Monticello Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau. He earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s College. 


Michael W. Newbold
Huntington National Bank

Southeast Region Director

Michael W. Newbold joined The Huntington National Bank as president of the central Indiana region following the 2007 merger with Sky Financial Group, where he served in the same capacity. Previously he was executive vice president responsible for investment management, trust services, wealth management, consumer banking and bank operations at Union Federal Bank. Newbold began his banking career at the former American Fletcher National Bank in 1976. Newbold serves his community as a member of the executive advisory board of the Miller College of Business at Ball State University and of the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee. He also serves as a director of the Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership, of the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, of the Indiana Community Business Credit Corp., of the Better Business Bureau of Central Indiana, of the Crossroads of America Council of the Boy Scouts, and of Greenwood Community Schools Holding Corp. Newbold is a graduate of Ball State University and of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.


Robert D. Heuchan
Mutual Savings Bank, Franklin

Southeast Region Director

Robert D. Heuchan is president and CEO of Mutual Savings Bank, Franklin. He joined the bank in 1990 and was named to his current position the following year. He also serves the bank as vice chairman of the board of directors. Heuchan began his career in 1976 with the former Union Bank and Trust Company. He serves as coordinator for the Good Cheer Fund of Johnson County, which he has chaired for the past 18 years; is a member and past president of the Franklin Rotary Club; is a member of various Masonic organizations, including Franklin Lodge No. 107; and serves as a director of the Indiana Masonic Home Foundation. Heuchan is a graduate of Franklin College and earned an MBA from the University of Indianapolis.


Larry W. Myers
First Savings Bank, FSB, Clarksville

Southeast Region Director

Larry W. Myers is president and CEO of First Savings Bank, FSB, Clarksville. He also serves on the bank’s board of directors. Myers joined First Savings Bank in 2005 as chief operating officer and was named to his current position in 2006. He previously had served since 1982 with National City Bank, most recently as area president of Southern Indiana. Myers has been active with the American Bankers Association on the community bank council and on the mutual council. He serves the community through Boy Scouts of America and One Southern Indiana-Chamber of Commerce. A certified trust financial adviser, Myers has Series 7 and Series 66 licenses. He earned bachelor’s and MBA degrees from the University of Kentucky and completed the Graduate School of Banking of the South and the Cannon Trust School.


H. Michael Lawson
The Riddell National Bank, Brazil

Southwest Region Director

H. Michael Lawson is president and CEO of The Riddell National Bank, Brazil. He joined the bank in 1974 and was elected to his present position in 1999. Lawson has served on numerous civic boards and currently is president of the Clay County Community Foundation and a director of the Wabash Valley Community Foundation. He is also serving a three-year term as a board member for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. Lawson is a graduate of Indiana State University, of the Cannon Trust School and of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.


Robert G. Jones
Old National Bank, Evansville

Southwest Region Director

Robert G. Jones is president and CEO of Old National Bancorp, Evansville, and a member of its board of directors. He assumed this position in 2004. Prior to joining Old National, he served for 25 years at KeyCorp. Jones serves on the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis board of directors, where he serves as a member of its executive committee and chairs the audit committee. He has been named to the boards of the University of Evansville, Evansville Regional Business Council, The Economic Development Coalition of Southwest Indiana, Evansville Day School, Deaconess Hospital, Riley Children’s Hospital, Evansville Police Foundation and Youth Resources of Southwestern Indiana. Jones is a past chair of the Southwest Indiana United Way campaign. He also was co-chair of the Hands on Discovery Children’s Museum capital campaign, chair of the 2007 March of Dimes Walk America, chair of the Ronald McDonald House capital campaign, chair of the Evansville ARC capital campaign, and twice has chaired the Buffalo Trace Boy Scouts Distinguished Citizen Award dinner. He is a member of the campaign cabinet of the Evansville Museum capital campaign and of the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation Superintendent’s Business Council. Jones was recognized by the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns with its Larry A. Conrad Civic Service Award, by Leadership Evansville with its Visionary Award and by the Southwest Indiana Chamber of Commerce as the Richard A. Schlottman Business Leader of the Year. A graduate of Ashland University, he has been recognized by the university as Alumnus of the Year in 2006 and by Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity as Leader of the Year in 2009


Kurt D. Rosenberger
Owen Community Bank, s.b., Spencer

Southwest Region Director

Kurt D. Rosenberger is president and CEO of Owen Community Bank, Spencer. He joined the bank in 1994 and served as vice president and chief financial officer prior to being named president and CEO in 2002. Previously Rosenberger served as a federal thrift examiner and senior financial analyst for the Office of Thrift Supervision in Indianapolis from 1986 to 1994. He began his banking career in 1981 as a Peace Corps volunteer assigned to a rural bank in the Philippines. Rosenberger currently serves on the IBA service corporation board of directors and the Title Center of Indiana board of governors. He is a member of the Owen County Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corp., a member of the Owen County Hometown Competitiveness task force, and vice president of the board of directors and finance committee member for the Owen County Family YMCA. Rosenberger earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University.
