Open Enrollment
At the beginning of 2006 the IBA discontinued offering open enrollment AIB classes. We maintain relationships with several universities in the state including the University of Evansville, Ivy Tech State College and Anderson University where bankers are able to take AIB courses and receive college credit. Information on those programs is available from each college.

Self Study
When you enroll in an AIB correspondence course as a self-study student the Indiana Bankers Association provides you with the textbook and a set of practical exercises that you periodically complete and return for grading to your instructor. To qualify for credit, you complete all the exercises and take the final examination under the direction of a bank officer or other approved individual.

College graduates or other bankers with adequate education and industry work experience also have the option of testing out of the self-study courses. Each course consists of a final examination. You become conversant with the subject at your own pace. There are no lessons or exercises to be submitted, and your examination grade becomes your course grade.

Internet Courses
Courses on the Internet are available in two formats: instructor-led and self-paced.

Online Courses (Instructor Led)
The instructor-led Online courses may be five to 16 weeks long, depending on the title. Instructor-led courses start and end on specified dates. Students may get on the Internet at any time during the day or night to complete assignments and assignments are usually due weekly. Textbooks are sent to students prior to the beginning of class. Assignments and examinations are completed on the Internet.

E-Learning (Self-Paced)
Self-paced classes are from two to eight hours long, and students can begin at any time of the day. All course work is on the Internet, and no textbook is needed. A student can finish a course in one sitting or several. Instructors are available for questions and guidance. Assignments and examinations are completed on the Internet. Click here for more information on e-learning.

AIB Diplomas
AIB offers a number of diplomas and certificates that can be earned by taking a prescribed set of AIB courses. Courses can be taken through any of the AIB delivery methods including open enrollment, online, self-study or in-bank.
