IBA Offerings

Calendar of Events

Seminars & Workshops
The IBA offers more than 150 banking related topics in a one-day or two-day seminar and workshop format. Most of these are offered in our own training center in Indianapolis, but some are available on a regional basis.

Advanced BSA Institute - January 19-21, 2010
This institute will focus on the BSA compliance needs of community banks and community bank BSA officers. While the regulation will be discussed as it relates to the subject matter under consideration, the focus of the institute will not be on the regulation itself. Rather, the institute will focus on the bank’s response to the regulation. Topics will include risk assessment, preventive and detective controls, the BSA examination manual, annual BSA reviews, preparing for a BSA examination, OFAC, customer due diligence, money service businesses, BSA and the board of directors, and training issues. The morning of Day Two will be spent with federal regulators allowing significant time to discuss BSA-related issues with the regulators and with the other attendees.

2010 Branch Manager Series
This series will focus on the critical success elements of managing and leading a performance focused sales and service team. Each workshop is designed either as a series or as a stand-alone, packaged full of checklists, job aids, case studies, examples, and "real world" situations. This series provides a branch manager with current, proven solutions to managing a successful branch today. The Branch Manager Series is designed for Retail Managers, Branch Managers, Assistant Branch Managers, Branch Manager Candidates and anyone responsible for the direction and development of a retail branch.  This series of seminars will be offered in two locations, at the Ft. Wayne Marriott, Ft. Wayne, Indiana and the IBA Center for Professional Development, Indianapolis, Indiana.

2010 Community Bankers for Compliance Series
Indiana Bankers Association is pleased to sponsor the Community Bankers for Compliance Program (CBC). This program is the most successful and longest running compliance training program in the country and provides up-to-date information on compliance issues and developments in bank regulations, as well as proven techniques for maintaining your in-bank compliance program. In addition, it provides a forum where those responsible for regulatory compliance can discuss issues and exchange ideas with other community bankers.  As all community bankers know, there are many compliance regulations, and they are changing all the time. The challenge for your bank is to make sure that those responsible for regulatory compliance have the right information at the right time, and that this information is pulled together and managed effectively. The Community Bankers for Compliance Program will help your bank do just that.  This series of seminars will be offered in two locations, at the Ft. Wayne Marriott, Ft. Wayne, Indiana and the IBA Center for Professional Development, Indianapolis, Indiana.
